"The Fighting Blues" senior thrower, Joshua Fischer again took top honors in the 1A-2A Group C Regional Indoor Track and Field Championships in the Men's Shot-Put competition on Saturday at Heritage HS in Lynchburg, Va.
Fischer again looked relaxed and confident and came out throwing strong quickly quelling any early doubters with his first throw coming in at 52'-6" and his second throw, which was his best of the day and a NEW PERSONAL RECORD fell onto the mat at 53'-6". Fischer's previous (PR) was 53'-1 3/4" which happened just a couple of weeks ago.
The 6'-5", 270 pound senior PM thrower had a couple of throws during his warm-ups that easily fell in the 55' range.. The PM senior says he looking to make that mark or better at the State Meet in a couple of weeks at Roanoke College.. Fischer says, "it's just all gotta come together when it counts and it's my job to make that happen, and I'm going to make it happen"!!! We'll see ya at States..
