In the past Riverheads has held off on starting basketball until after the football season was over, but this year they are starting on time with a home game Wednesday night (7th) against Bath County. There will be seven players dressed out who do not play football and the rest of the team will presumably join the team next week for a return trip to Bath and a home game with Rappahannock County. Of the seven who will be on the court Wednesday, three are returning seniors from last year and the other four are sophomores up from the JVs. Three of those were frequent double figure scorers on the JV level.
Bath will presumably have a full squad on hand so it will be interesting to see how this one turns out. Good luck to the Big Red and let's see some support in the stands!
