Some Big East Week 8 Games! Thoughts on these 15 East VA Battles...

Added some mid East games as some look like big ones. Please add thoughts and comments. gladiators01 should be putting up ratings soon as well.

Altavista at 2A #1 Appomattox (any chance for A Town?)

Dan River (ranked 2A) at William Campbell (any chance for WC?)

Sussex Central at Franklin (I would say Sussex all the way, but Franklin has hope at the Armory! It's a big one! Comments...)

Colonial Beach at Essex (CB the only NND team left with a remote chance to defeat Essex, remote)

Rappahannock at Lancaster (which teams will show up?)

2A Washington & Lee at Northumberland -

(Northumberland must return to form like against Trinity to win this game against an improving W&L Eagles - Great Job to the new W&L coach Josh Wild on the wins!, W&L defeated Northumberland last season by 21, Eagles will be fired up, the Indians should be too!)

2A King William at Mathews (Can KW stop the Stuart Anderson show?)

Charles City at Middlesex (a lot of folks high on CC, but could Middlesex win at home?)

Chincoteague at Northampton (does NHS get another win? they should)

Bluestone at Central L (comments?)

Cumberland at 2A Prince Edward (I bought one of my dogs in Cumberland County, nice country)

Riverheads at 2A Page (Riverheads #1 in State as should have been all season)

2A Buffalo Gap at Luray (big game here....)

3A Southampton at Surry (Go Surry!)

2A Greensville at Windsor

A lot of games with potential playoff seeding implications.

Altavista at 2A #1 Appomattox-- Could be huge in whether or not Altavista gets a bye in the first round.

Dan River (ranked 2A) at William Campbell-- WC is 10th right now, a 2A win could push them up, but another loss could drop them out for now.

Sussex Central at Franklin--- 2 teams trying to stay in the top 4

Colonial Beach at Essex-- the 8 and 9th team, winner puts themselves in good position to host in round 1, loser may be traveling.

Rappahannock at Lancaster-- Lancaster is in a 3 way tie for 11 right now and is 13th on the VHSL ranking. (Does anyone know how the tie is broken?)

2A Washington & Lee at Northumberland -- A win could help Northumberland get back into the top 4, a loss might have them falling to the first round travelers group.

2A King William at Mathews- Mathews sits at 14 right now, a win over a 2A would help their cause for getting in.

Charles City at Middlesex-- As you said, people are high on CC, but they are 1-5 and sitting 17, Middlesex is 16. Both teams will need to go on a run if they are to get in.

Chincoteague at Northampton-- Northampton sitting at 12, in that 3 way tie for 11th and could pick up big points in a win.


2A Buffalo Gap at Luray-- Luray at 5th trying to get into the top 4.

3A Southampton at Surry-- Surry is in that 3 way tie for 11th and would separate themselves from Northampton/Lancaster with a big 3A win.

It may be a little early for playoff talk, but the VHSL puts the points up, so we might as well look!
