Steward School Class of 2023 shooting guard Curtis Blair III isn't going to wait until the spring, summer or even fall to pick out a college destination. Just two weeks into March, the 6-foot-6 sharp shooter has given a pledge to the Liberty Flames and Coach Ritchie McKay.

As a junior, he averaged 18 points and eight rebounds per game for a Spartans team that won the TCIS Tournament and finished 28-3 overall, reaching the VISAA Division II State Semifinals before bowing out to Blue Ridge, which recently completed its fourth straight state title. Blair put up 35 points in a win over Virginia Episcopal in the State Quarters.

Blair III cited that the Flames recruiting him the hardest and its campus in Lynchburg felt like home. Liberty will soon be joining Conference USA.

His father was quite a decorated basketball player, also by the name of Curtis Blair. He was a standout at the University of Richmond, earning CAA Player of the Year honors and helping the Spiders as a No. 15 seed stun No. 2 seed Syracuse in the 1991 NCAA Tournament. Currently, the Roanoke native is an NBA referee.

As for the younger Blair, he also drew attention from Florida, Richmond, VCU and Virginia Tech. Rivals rates him No. 139 overall nationally.
