"Ole" Burrhead never coached at Grundy - he was at Graham then.
His son Larry, did, later on - he was wrestling & fb coach in the late 70s/early 80s. I had him for PE as a Soph.
Brownie Cummins was our HC then. Went 6-2-2 ... was outscored 21-6 in the 4 non-wins. The ties were to PH-R. & Glass.

The 1964 Richlands game was triple-historic...
1.) Richlands had also booked Big Creek for 11/6, so we agreed to a 1-week delay
2.) That was the last game played at Vansant Elementary's County Stadium.
3.) That was the last game of Ernie Hicks' 41 year career - he turned 65 and was forced out.

Where was Andrew Lewis?

Northampton? Somebody had a ferry ride over a choppy Chesapaeke Bay.
