VHSL wants Liberty U out!

I have seen the 295 by pass, I know where it is, but getting there to 295 is the problem.

Distance isn't a problem for me personally. Heck I drove to Columbia, SC Friday to watch a softball game.
From Lynchburg area 29N to Charlottesville, 64E to 295N just West of Richmond. I don't understand am I missing something?

Traffic in Richmond is the least of my concerns. In fact, when I was stationed in Norfolk and heading back to the Blue Ridge mountains for some time away I'd always go right on through Richmond using 64/95. Never bothered me a bit.

The more I think about it, the more I'm open to Williamsburg. Though Richmond would be better IMO.

Personally I'd love for it to stay close by to me in Lynchburg, but I know my reasons are selfish. To be fair, I think the venue should probably rotate every 2-4 years. Tidewater, (W&M, ODU, HU, NSU, VA Beach Sportsplex) Richmond, (UR) Charlottesville, (UVA) Lynchburg, (LU) NOVA, West (JMU, VMI, VT) Idk if all of these facilities would work but I do think venue rotation is the most fair way to go. I didn't list a NOVA site because I'm not familiar with any stadiums that would meet the requirements. That's not to say there aren't any venues, I'm just not familiar with one.

Yep, I never take Powhite, NO TOLLS for me! I go 64 to 95 to eventually 460. I never have issues with that way. Its actually the fastest way. I will be traveling it often due to a move I might make out to the 757 area. There are some jobs I have been looking at out that way.

That's not true. There are plenty of ways to get to Williamsburg from 99% of Virginia that don't involve getting stuck in Richmond traffic.

Look, the real reason that you want the games at LU is because it's convenient for you. That's fine. I just wish you'd admit it.
The only way to endure Richmond in getting to Williamsburg is to actually live there. Either that are your stupidity is terminal.

This is all a done deal already. Before the other Committee even walks in the room. Dumping LU will be unanimous and without discussion. The only debate is where the next location will be.

Opinions vary.
I have been to every Naval Base in the world, including those as remote as Diego Garcia. I have driven throughout Europe and Asia. i have visited almost every State. I have clocked over a million miles in automobiles and in varying environments. Other than Juneau, Alaska, there is no Capital City easier to maneuver through or around than Richmond, VA. IMO and I simply laugh at those that think it's any difficulty at all because They are clearly without perspective of any kind.

It's like these drivers I see daily in Chestertown, MD. I have never seen worse. They would go into a full out panic attack driving in Richmond. But if that's where you guys are coming from. So be it.

Go back and read what I and most of us actually said. There's only one guy here panicking over Richmond. Myself, barring an accident I haven't had traffic problems going around Richmond since they took the toll booths out.

There's 2 people on these boards who think their opinion is gold.....HR6 and shauntclair. And if you don't agree with them, or they don't agree with one another, this is what happens. Back and forth bickering over the traffic patterns in VA.

288 will get you where ever you need to go without going into the city. I have never had traffic issues in Richmond, even the city traffic isn't horrible.

The VHSL voted 27-0 to approve a move of the State Football Championship Games for the 6A, 5A, 4A and 3A classifications.

Title games for 6A & 5A will now be held at Hampton University's Armstrong Stadium. From 2009-15, those games were played at the University of Virginia's Scott Stadium in Charlottesville. Prior to that in 2008, the title games for then AAA Division 6 and Division 5 were at Virginia Tech's Lane Stadium in Blacksburg.

As for the 4A and 3A title games that have spent the past three years in Lynchburg at Liberty University's Arthur L. Williams Stadium, they will head to William & Mary's Zable Stadium in Williamsburg.

The 2A & 1A title games will remain at Salem Stadium in Salem.

The talk about traffic at W&M was silly but wait until D.5 and 6 fans see the traffic at HU.

I live in Midlothian and take the Powhite every day. It can either be a smooth trip or backed up to Hades. Would not call it easy. Broad St at Short Pump ranks with anything in Fairfax, Prince William or Va Beach. I have traveled all over VA and was stationed in NOVA and Norfolk-Va Beach
Williamsburg is a breeze to get to from Richmond. If 64 is too slow, you can catch 60 W at New Kent.

Congrats to the VHSL on excellent choices.
