Joffrion's Bulldogs captured the Region 4A Football Championship last year before falling to eventual Class 4 State Champ in Varina in the State Semis. Despite the graduation of some key pieces like
Kyree Moyston (Virginia Tech) and Bravion Campbell, the Bulldogs figure to be a top contender at the Class 4 level again.
Back is quarterback Cameron Butler as well as sophomore running back JaVon Ford, who ran for 750 yards and 10 TD's as a ninth grader to earn 2nd Team All-state honors. They also return senior WR/DB Kaletri Boyd, who had 12 touchdowns a season ago to earn 1st Team All-State honors as a kick returner and 2nd Team All-State at wideout.
Seven starters return on defense, including senior DB Antoine Gray, a 2nd Team All-State selection, plus blend in a host of intriguing freshmen and sophomores that can contribute significantly.
King's Fork opens at Smithfield - directed by a new Head Coach in Tracey Parker - on August 26th before their Southeastern District opener at Indian River on September 9th in Chesapeake.
