Well I hope they win it all, because if they don't, I can only imagine the reasoning behind why they didn't. Good luck to Phoebus and the rest of the teams in the playoffs. It shall be interesting.
Please explain how a "decent" team earns the #1 seed in their pod. Good QB, decent not great RB, relies on their qb and if you stop him you stop Hopewell. Do you have any facts to back up these claims?IMO Hopewell will be the 1st 1# seed to go out. I seen them play about 3 times this year and they are a decent team. Ended up with a good record, had some plays go there way in big games but overall to me not one that would have me worried. They do have a good QB Hill can run and throw and a decent not great running back. The defense is not very big and the corners are small and have trouble covering. Hopewell relies on QB Hill and if you stop him you stop Hopewell. 3A East pod 26 & 28 is very weak so Hopewell will have cake walks in round 1 & 2 but will be put out in round 3. If I'm wrong I will admit it. Just my opinion.
Shit you better not overlook a James Monroe or a Hopewell
Phoebus in Football is like GW in Richmond in basketball at the 3A level...... DOMINANT
I think Hopewell goes out first but it's a toss uptrust me no one is overlooking them....which one you think goes out first?
And where did all these Phoebus bandwagon fans come from?

When they beat Matoaca, the QB was the 4th leading rusher that game. The trio of decent not great RB went for over 400 yards just between them. And they only threw for 60-70 yards that game.
When Thomas Dale put 8 in the box and tried to stop the run, the QB and average receivers lit them up for 3 1st half TD's, opening up the running game in the 2nd half.
Then there is this:
(4-6) Tabb - #8 Seed 3A East Pod 25/27 Won 49-20
Powhatan – Missed 4A playoffs Won 37-14
(7-3) Hanover - #2 Seed 4A East Pod 19/20 Lost 19-24
(7-3) Dinwiddie - #6 Seed 4A Pod 19/20 Lost 13-41
(2-8) Petersburg - #8 Seed 3A East Pod 26/28 Won 47-8
(5-5) Meadowbrook - #8 Seed 5A South Pod 9/10 Won 28-22

The 2 losses Hopewell suffered
1) The loss to Hanover wasn’t decided until Hopewell threw an interception in the last seconds of the 4th quarter.
2) The loss to Dinwiddie was just that – a loss. Dinwiddie had a great game plan, executed the plan, and caught Hopewell looking. That was Hopewell’s wakeup call so a big thank you to Dinwiddie for lighting the fire. Dinwiddie was the better prepared team that night and deserved that win.
Does this mean Hopewell will win the state championship...NO. The team that takes care of business 5 weeks in a row will win the state championship. Did Hopewell earn their #1 seed...I think the stats speak for themselves...
hopewell beats a good tabb team 49-20,,,and james monroe barely survives on last cple plays to squeak by york h.s,,,i would have hopewell ranked over jm and have poquoson ranked if jm is gonna be ranked at all...this bias of west over east will be settled by phoebus winning the next 10 state titles in a row...go phs

that was posted on sept 14........so, what bandwagon fans are you referring to?.........dont get mad,,,,just understand your fate....or get a lottery ticket.........either way seeing is believing and i trust you will believe with time
the thread was intriguing matchups...thus, provoking conversation without the ability to 'show'...rather hypocritical to come on to this board and tell people to shut up and let the boys such and such when you are on here too...1817posts and counting......so spare me the rhetoric.....back to the point..the west champ will blowout their first rounds as well so im not sure what that point was about, nevertheless, i will expect your congratulations and apology to the east for thinking the west has the only 'flavor' in 3a football.......boys from phoebus learn to eat blue crabs with old bay at birth dont get me started on the mud bugs

Hopewell is a very good team. I saw them three times. Yes, Hanover was a little too physical even without Cheatham. Dinwiddie pressured Hill from the first play and he seemed rattled. Please explain how a "decent" team earns the #1 seed in their pod.
