No one talks about Class 3

Yes and last night was a prime example. Dinwiddie sacked Tatum 6 or 7 times he made plays with feet running but that doesn't work all the time. When he has time to throw he's on target but the receivers need to catch the ball. The defense kept them in the game but they've to protect Tatum and open some holes for the runners. I know they're young but the o line needs work bad or Tatum will get hurt.

Salem 42. Patrick Henry 24

I’m not perfect. Hope you had fun and found your way home safely dude!
I said in original post that the offense had some explosion , and I do like some of the changes. However, the defense is not good. I'm sure it will look better against next 5 opponents, but when tested against playoff caliber offenses it has been deficient (looked hard for a kinder word, settled on deficient). Does anyone have the stats of PH game??? How many yards did Salem give up??

Thanks for the clarification Mic and Chuck. By no means am I coming at Neo. Would like to see him put in position to do what he’s good at, throwing slants (love that GW is utilizing that in their offensive package), perfecting his long ball (he’s throws a nice ball and has an arm) and running the read option. Many people will look at the score and say GW struggled with an average team..SR will make some noise in the playoffs and is a very sound football team. I see why they beat Magna Vista!

Salem & PH community and football families

have lost a great leader and influencer of young people. Coach Steve Oliver passed away this morning. He was an assistant football coach for PH and Salem with Coach White. Along with football, he was a wrestling coach, and of course, a teacher. He loved to get the most out of his players and students, but he did it in a way that showed his love for them. I was fortunate enough to get to know him later in life and to call him my friend. He's not suffering anymore and I can see his big smile even now. My avatar is a picture of him from a Salem baseball game that we got to go enjoy together last spring. Prayers for his loving helpmate Rhonda, and for the Salem and PH communities.
This is heartbreaking. Steve was a family friend and he would oftentimes check in on my mom to see how she was doing. He was also friends with my dad up until he passed. Sometimes when I was home, he would want to talk high school football with me over the phone. And I'd always see if he was checking out playoff games so I could catch up with him.

Such a great man. Very sad to see this.

Staunton 21 Stuarts Draft 14 Final nm

This game had a clear enough video on NFHS but the scoreboard did not change all night. On occasion you could hear the announcer giving the score, which was your only way to keep up.

Anyway, the score was a bit of a surprise because I think most folks, myself included, had the Cougars pegged to be among the top two or three in the Shenandoah and Staunton more like a middle of the pack team. But neither had played a district game prior to tonight, so this result sort of flips the script.

Therefore Staunton can now be regarded as a contender, whereas SD will now face a red hot Buffalo Gap team next weekend (Oct. 4) and a second district loss could knock the Cougars out of the title picture early.

Speaking of Buffalo Gap, to the best of my knowledge their home game against Waynesboro is still on the schedule for Friday night, as is Riverheads' Homecoming game against Wilson. I suppose it is possible that Friday's weather could still impact one or both of those.

The Bison should not have any trouble with Waynesboro, but Wilson will have a golden opportunity to not only spoil Homecoming for the Big Red, but a second district loss for RHS would effectively knock them out of the race.

I feel sure he was just running the play that was sent it. A very curious call, to be sure.

The refs seemed bound and determined to insert themselves into the game. I *hate* when they do that.

SR is a tough team! I wish we could borrow #2 and #99!
Congrats to the Eagles! Way to go!
