Buckingham @ Richlands

Read the whole thread that was exactly what I said. We DID NOT HAVE A CHANCE. I knew that coming in. I haven't watched the film yet but some better thrown balls and #3 would have given up over 100 yds. easy. And yards after the catch made most of his yards although they were almost perfectly placed balls. Someone on here said that the qb and the wr was all we had. Well do you actually think other teams we played didn't watch film also? He didn't get those yards by outrunning the db he's a 4.75 at the fastest its called separation and he can do that to anyone Grayson has played even #3. Thanks to Richland's he's well over 1200 for the season.

And sitting on the couch next weekend as well.

As we should be. But arrogance will be the downfall of many. As for your team was hoping to see them do well. They are an outstanding group of athletes!!!! If they and the coaching staff are the same as some of the people on this thread can't say I will pull for them now.

We have offered Buckingham moving the game up to 7 instead of the normal 7:30 if they will play Friday night. If not, it'll be 1:30 Saturday.

Seems to me for the players it would be easier to leave school around noon and play Friday night rather than leaving BC at 7am to play on Saturday afternoon. And coming down late Friday and staying in the Holiday Inn just doesn't seem easy to keep the players focused.

I hope they play Friday.

I don't speak for the players, coaches or any fans other than myself....so don't cast a wide net, however, it was your underhanded comments that called for several people to respond...so maybe you should reflect harder on your own comments than the rebuttals of others.

??? Compliments and observations are underhanded? I think we need a dictionary. Let's see an outstanding collection of athletes.... Making an observation on the O-line.... Underhanded? Just an opinion that some took as an insult....then a "well we rested all our players" comment. Really bud?

Once again you show your age. I never said we rested all of our players. I said some and we did. Then you make the juvenile quote of #3 being jv.

Richlands are fair and passionate. We respect our opponents greatly and treat them the right way. You threw the punches we responded. I'm done and do wish your team and community well. I thought the young men from Grayson last night played very hard and respectable in a very tough situation. I wish Grayson much success in the future

Same here but please learn to take a compliment and an opinion from someone outside of your blue hurricane community as advice and not an insult. I have watched alot of D1 recruited athletes at the numerous camps I have been to and have also broke down film with D1 coaches and players so I have a fair amount of football knowledge to go from. You really do have probably the best collection of skill position athletes I have seen locally.

Didn't you say he was your son. I can see why it is so personnel to you but let it go. Good luck to you and yours hope the best for them.
Build them up all you want just stop trying to take us down with verbiage, the points on the board is all that counts.

Yes the wr and the big nose are both mine. I'm sorry to come off rash but I know football. The youngest will probably get an offer from a d1 school after this year from a school in NC or so it has been suggested. But we will see. And as for the score I knew it wasn't going to be pretty. When we (my sons and I) set down to breakdown film we knew what the defense would do against us and that is exactly what you did based on our skill sets versus yours. Exploited every weakness we had very well. As they did. Like I said just learn to take a compliment and an educated opinion.

I really hope they play Saturday as I'd like to go to this one.

Have no problems with the compliments or opinions. But you did let your bias sneak in there in a offensive way.
Again good luck to you and yours, hope the best.

I know your hopes Ryan, but man we have had some good Saturday games over the last ten years.
2005 Liberty Bedford, will never forget Stanton td.
2007 Brookville and Logan Thomas and that tall receiver somebody stood on his head.
2006 at Hidden Valley and that Wicked hit.
We been blessed with some good memories.

Can't forget that 2010 game with Brookville, who would have ever thought.

I like Saturday afternoon playoff games and always have. I love the atmosphere for some reason. Maybe it goes back to the stone age when I played and we had a couple of Saturday playoff games and it just had a totally different feel to it.
Like Thunder's-crest said, we've had some pretty good games on Saturday too ! But in the end, it doesn't really matter to me as long as we win and advance.

No bias maybe just a little jealousy would like for other parents and coaches to share my enthusiasm. We get alot of remarks because I have sent my son's to camps since they were 8 and 9. And it shows in skill set and coachability in them. Even when they try to help other players out. My oldest won't fool with it but my youngest has a deep seeded love of football. He can coach most of our assistant coaches but that's what I've paid for is the knowledge. Again I apologize if it was taken the wrong way. I deeply meant no disrespect for the great athletes on your team. They are very good.

You will find most Richlands fans can understand your last post.
When I made the comment about posters making post about things they didn't know anything about; If they knew the hard work that went into our teams, the many camps, all the 7 on 7s the weight program and then if they could count coaching years of experience standing on our sidelines, there is a reason we can do what we do and why others want to be a part of it. It's called Hard Work.

I can relate but we have no one else who wants to do it or pay for it either. We were at a 7 on7 this summer and some of the boys were complaining about the heat. We camp.in Charlotte NC in July its hot!

Wow a potential Div 1 offer and a 4.75 40 are rare for SWVA but best of luck.....not uncommon for parent posters to be a little subjective when its close to home.....what I find troubling is I have read this poster make unflattering comments concerning his teammates, coaches , referees ,opponents etc. He has some very nice stats but I have yet to here him make a single positive comment regarding the folks (his TEAM) who helped him accomplish this. I am assuming someone snapped the ball, some others blocked, passed, blocked downfield or maybe even thru him a pass in practice. Along with the other activites he is assisting his son I hope the concept of TEAM work is also addressed. All I have heard so far is what HE has accomplished with an emphasis on the individual.

His son whom he said may get the offer is a nose guard.
So no one is blocking or snapping to him. Just saying

Comparing East teams to West teams is difficult every year. There are so few common opponents. Richlands was clearly dominant in the West, Buckingham was dominant in the East. Yes, I know VHSL has Buckco classified in the west but they don't play teams west of the Blue Ridge. So which region is stronger? 8 seed Dan River has already beaten 9 seed Central Wise. Today's Appo-Lee game should be telling. Surely, Appomattox the #1 seed should win, but if that game isn't close, that may indicate the West isn't as all-powerful as we think they are. Either way, I think Richlands and Buckingham could be very entertaining.
You're not making much sense. You say this because an 8 seed barely beat a 9 seed? The Appo vs Lee game shouldnt be expected to be close. They played a 16 seed and was surprised they were only up 21 at the half.. Even Virginia High Stomped them. Funny you didn't mention #10 Graham beating #7 James River.

You should see Union as well. Maybe even more athletes. 2 very good teams.

Would love too see them play always a dog fight. I believe ridgeview could be a force to be reckoned with when they gel a little more
Just think about those two div one programs and their individual success.

Wow, compliments until the backhand at the end. Just give credit and move on.

Three things I have learned on preps about SWVA football. 1 Giles/Glenvar don't like referees or each other. 2 anybody that doesn't play in SWVA sucks. 3 apparently Richlands is soley responsible for recruiting talent to a great program.

Just my observations
If a tree falls in a forest and now one is around to hear it, does it make noise? Refering to #2...I know there are some great teams in other parts of the state as good maybe better as SWVA but there are few posts on here about them. If I knew more there would be more credit given about them.

Ridgeview uniforms are HOT! Love them! Great job on who came up with their colors and mascot emblem.

We talk some junk in the Valley to each other but generally not much on here. I think someone else mentioned that there is not usually as many fans following the "East" teams. I would argue that Essex has their support on here and I am sure William Campbell, Altavista, and Goochland have their crowds. Just don't think it compares to the fanatics that follow SWVA football. Nor do I think most of that group is anywhere near as cocky as our SW brethren. Not that that is a bad thing, cause as Kid Rock once sang, " it ain't cocky if you back it up".

We do most of our trash talking on Twitter so we don't get in trouble on the forum :)

Surprisingly my best football conversations are always with the big red faithful lol still will never root for you guys!

Still waiting for official conformation, but I've been told a date and time. But I can't say until it's official. Pending AD and principal agreement tomorrow morning. Take it for what it's worth.

I still wish it was on Saturday so that I could see it. Hopefully I can find another decent Saturday game closer to home.

Hopefully its played Sat. I won't make it that far on Friday I drive tractor trailer and would hate to miss this game. Also Buckingham would have a very light fan base.

With Beamer's last home game on TV @ noon, and heavy traffic on 81 North from 4-6 as the UNC fans head to 220, don't think we'll see a Sat. game in 1A or 2A West, unless it's Hurley @ Galax.
