Buckingham @ Richlands

BuckTown has some great CBs and DBs, so this will be a great game. I think the height of the CBs may play a factor in this game. Ragland is tall, but the others are 6 ft or under. Buckingham will stop the rushing game. That is just my assessment of the game. If Buckingham dont have a blitz throughout the night, I see Richlands winning easily. You cant give that QB time. I see ragland with 150 or more rushing. He is a monster on the field and if Buckingham is smart, they would use a ground a pound to eat clock. Keep Richlands off the field. If Buckingham dont throw the ball more than what they did Friday, its going to be over for them. They got to mix in that pass game more. I am a lover of Central VA teams so I want Buckingham to win. Another thing, I hope the crowd in Richlands dont intimidate BuckTown. They dont travel well unless its a rivalry game vs. Appo (Battle of the Axe).

If they don't have any height at DB, it may be a long night. We have 2 WR at 6'4 and another at 6'3. We also have some kids that can flat fly when they get space, so how many athletes BC has will play a factor as well.

As for our defense, BC will have to pass to have a shot. We aim to take a teams best player out of the game and make the supporting cast beat us. I fully expect Ragland to have a few good runs and probably a few scores, but can his support step up and help? That's the key. Richlands is going to score. Can BC keep up. That's my key to the game.

Our crowd should be in full effect Friday night. That, and some help from local teams fan bases will make this a nice atmosphere. I know several from Gate City are coming up to watch the game.

They have another named Gough, he has rushed for over a 1000. Ragland has 2250+. They are slacking on passing game, but when they do, it usually a BIG TIME play that u never saw coming. They sneaky with it.

BC, My lips are zipped from this point fwd. I know bucktown like a book. Believe me yall got some other things that gonna catch em by surprise.

Not a backhand just a statement. This is a great team. Grayson's d-line was in the qbs face all night
I didn't take offense to any of your observations. Richlands certainly didn't run the ball well in the first half. Coach Mance commented on that after the game, saying that he jumped the offensive line at halftime. The first drive after halftime they committed to the run and Austin Atkinson accumulated the bulk of his yards on that drive.
As for Grayson's d-line being in Absher's face all night....everyone can decide for themselves. This link shows every completed pass.......

The bulk of the passes against Grayson were quick, short passes, which eliminated any rush. He was sacked once, but on his one long and two intermediate completions, he had all day to pass....one time going to his third read.

Would also like to point out that both of his incompletions could be classified as dropped balls....one of which was a 30 yarder or so....

Lorddddd talk about YAC. Those receivers are putting in work

Were any of these players (QB,WR) playing in the Wilson game last year?

#1 was injured. #5 did. #3 did but he only had a half a season under his belt and has improved tremendously this year. QB is a first year starter. #11 is a transfer this year and #15 didn't play last year.

Storm watcher, lets talk about the block in the back at :42 and :47 of that hudl video? Refs didnt see that? There was some much poor tackling in that video. OUCH!

Not taking nothing from the qb, he has a sharp football IQ.
Wow. Why even bring this up? 42 sec was def not a block in the back. The defender was facing the blocker as he was being blocked then turned. If that was the case you couldn't get through a game without a penalty every play. 47 sec was closer to a block in the back but I believe it was more from the side.

Just curious! Wilson Memorials secondary last year against you guys had 1CB and 2 safeties who were being recruited to play next level. Ones at Army, one went to Hampden-Sydney, and the other chose to play college baseball instead. Our QB also played in the secondary a little I believe that game(scholarship TE at JMU, and two Dlinemen are currently playing college ball.

Just thinking it's going to take another stacked defense like that to have a chance at slowing you guys down. That QB can really sling it and those receivers are fast, reliable, and don't go down with arm tackles.

Wow that was a stacked defense. Yeh I agree.

Trevor its my opinion it will take a secondary like your alls last year to consistently shut us down. Now i didn't say beat us but to consistently stop us. That was as good of a secondary as i have seen in High School ball. I was very impressed by them.

When we played George Wythe in the 03 title game we were far more superior with athletes than they were and much bigger and faster than they were...But they had the perfect game plan and they played like they wasn't scared of the big bad wolf. I know we are heavy under dogs in this game but THE PERFECT GAMEPLAN can crack any code ask Ronda Rousey lol! Serious note I pray both teams exit injury free and may the best team move on good luck.

Looking forward to see what Ragland is all about. He's gonna be a tough one to stop.

We were blessed with that defense last year! I definitely wouldn't want to be a Defensive coordinator faced with stopping Richlands this year

The good thing about video is that everyone else has the opportunity to judge for themselves whether there were any blocks in the back or not. I wouldn't have called either block that you mentioned.

As for poor tackling, I certainly won't argue.

Number 5 had a lot of yards 20 to 20 against you guys, but credit your defense for shutting him down inside the red zone. We only used number 3 last year as an over the top kind of WR. Once you guys realized that, you backed his guy off of him and some picks were thrown. Number 8 (TE) played against you guys as well but didn't have many catches.

The transfer, number 11, is 6'4 and lightning quick. Number 15 played as a freshman, then didn't play last year, and is playing again this year. He's the star basketball player. There's also another receiver that didn't have a catch in this game (number 2) and he has a few TD this year but didn't play last year due to basketball.

So it's an entirely different animal than what you guys saw last year. I would have loved to see this offense go up against that defense.

  • Not to mention that River ( our QB last year ) was more of a runner than a passer, he could throw the ball, but in my humble opinion no where near as well as John Luke can sling it, But River was tough as nails and could run the ball and had the heart of a lion.
  • John luke has gotten so much better since the start of the season. I really like the way he has matured as a QB and as a leader !

Its like that every year but this is the 1st year they all have stayed healthy. We usually lose 4-5 to injury or something crazy. We never worry about losing players to grades and that's the one thing I really love about our kids. I actually think this year's roster have been the lightest we ever had but it ain't the size of the dog in the fight. We've had better teams in the past on paper but by far this is the toughest we had.

That is very impressive! I had no idea you guys had that few dressed out. Its really amazing that you all have accomplished this great of a run with those numbers. My respect for you guys just went out the roof. Wonderful job by all and i wish you guys the best. I just hope we end up with one more point than you all...lol

Well done Buckingham Football players! Lots of RESPECT from this Richlands fan.

Hey man much respect to you guys and this county is pumped about coming there to play a premier program like y'all for the 1st time. I show guys clips of your team and they go" Damn that's who we gotta play? Look at their field...damn that QB nice lol". For some reason I saw us meeting up early in the summer my gut told me we would have to play you guys at some point this year and here we are. May be one our grandkids grandkids talk about years from now I don't know but something drew us together for a reason. Good luck
