Blog Class 4 State Championship: Kettle Run (14-0) vs. Dinwiddie (14-0)

About 10 minutes to kickoff here in Lynchburg as these two undefeated teams get ready to battle for the Class 4 State Championship.
 
Generals return man met by a host of Kettle Run defenders. Generals start their opening drive at the 20 yard line.
 
Raphael Tucker carries the ball for nearly 10 yards but a Generals holding penalty negates the 1st down. 2nd and 15 at the Dinwiddie 15 yard line.
 
Big stop by the Cougars defense. 3rd and 14 upcoming for the Generals offense.
 
Dinwiddie forced to punt. A Generals bounce sets up Kettle Run at the Generals 47 to start their drive.
 
Christopher Bowles in the backfield for Dinwiddie forces a 3rd and 13 for the Cougars.
 
Kettle Run downs it the kick at the 9 yard line. Dinwiddie getting set to start their 2nd drive of the game.
 
Big pass from Harry Dalton and Dinwiddie is in the endzone on the next play. Generals take the early lead at the 7:01 mark of the first quarter.
 
After a seven yard gain by the Cougars on second down, the Generals defense stuffs Kettle Run on third. Cougars set to punt once again.
 
Another Kettle Run roll but Dinwiddie set to begin with much better field position. This time at their own 32 yard line.
 
Encroachment on the Cougars defense and Dinwiddie is approaching Kettle Run territory.
 
Dalton connects on wide receiver screen and then the quarterback runs it 20 yards to the Kettle Run 18 yard line.
 
Penalty on the Kettle Run defense moves the ball to the nine yard line. 1st and goal Dinwiddie
 
Harry Dalton takes into the endzone for his 2nd rushing TD of the game. Dinwiddie leads 14-0. 3:41 remaining 1st quarter
 
Kettle Run back on offense trailing by two touchdowns. 14-0 Dinwiddie leads. Cougars at their own 28.
 
Abram Chumley short pass gets the ball to the 45 yard line. 2nd and 3 for Kettle Run.
 
Chumley sacked at the 40 yard line on third down. Personal foul on Kettle Run and the Cougars forced to punt.
 
Dalton with a 31 yard gain on the ground and Dinwiddie is knocking at the red zone door once again.
 
End of the 1st quarter: Dinwiddie 14, Kettle Run 0. Generals with the ball at the 18 yard line when play resumes.
 
Harry Dalton with 8 carries for 95 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter.
 
Another rushing TD for Dinwiddie, this time it's Raphael Tucker in for the score. Generals up 21-0 over Kettle Run.
 
Nearly a turnover for Kettle Run but instead the pass falls to the ground. 2nd and 10 for the Kettle Run offense.
 
Dinwiddie takes over and Raphael Tucker rips off a 38 yard gain to the Cougars 12 yard line.
 
Raphael Tucker into the endzone from 1 yard away. Dinwiddie on the board again. Generals 28, Kettle Run 0. 7:56 remaining in the 1st half.
 
Kick goes out of bounds. Dinwiddie will start their drive at their own 30 yard line.
 
Nothing doing this drive for Dinwiddie. Generals punt and the Cougars take the field at their own 40. Best starting field position of the day.
 
Chumley connects with Jordan Tapscott on a long passing play and the Cougars have the ball at the Dinwiddie 25.
 
Kettle Run on the board with a passing TD by Abram Chumley to Jordan Tapscott. Extra point failed. Dinwiddie 28, Kettle Run 6
 
Cougars defense struggling against this Dinwiddie rushing attack. Tucker takes it 21 yards on 1st down for the Generals.
 
Harry Dalton with a 42 yard passing score to Christian Drumgoole who walks into the endzone. Generals now lead 35-6.
 
Kettle Run offense catching some momentum. Chumley passes to Jordan Tapscott to get the ball to their 48 yard line.
