They will play the winner of the Honaker/George Wythe game in the 1A West finals

The road to Richmond for Galax has featured a triple OT win at Eastside & a stunner of Radford in Lebanon.

There has been a couple years people gave the trophy to Radford, but they never got it.

I look at Altavista scoring 42 points in one quarter last night, then see Radford only scores 37 entire game.

U can't compare scores of a Galax/rad ford game to a Altavista team scoring 92 and 42 in first quarter against what I can't imagine is a very good middlesex team based on that box score.

Galax and Radford style of play leads to grinding games like that one in which Galax got the best of Radford.

Last year was last year but n the state semi final game Galax gave altavista fits for 3 and a half quarters and held them to 54 total points and altavista I'm pretty sure was under 40 until the 4th quarter when they pulled away late when Galax had to start fouling down 5-7 pts with 3-4 minutes left.

Style of play and limiting turnovers and transition buckets go a lot further than some care to think.

And when u get 2 teams with the style of play and defensive mentality and efficient offensive sets u get games played that generally are played in the 40's.

Altavista definitely has to firepower to really get teams out of their comfortable playing style and r the obvious favorites to win it all but u can't compare saying radford is pathetic because of their outcome comparing it to the 92 Altavista scored n their last game. That's just not fair.

True, but games in 30s/40s are boring/dull. That's why we need a shot clock, thus not allow teams to hold ball. Who knows, if they shoot, it might go in.

Radford probably would of beat Middlesex by 50 also. Middlesex couldn't beat anybody in the Northern Neck District.

You should get a new keyboard because it's broken and randomly capitalizing letters and words.

Dan River vs. Altavista averaged in the 40s for the last three years and those games weren't boring. (A note, Dan River beat Altavista and lost to Radford this year). Last years championship game between Altavista and Radford wasn't boring and it was in the 40s. It's one thing if its two bad teams that can't make 50 points, its completely a different thing if two good defenses hold their opponents under 50.

Radford is a good team that got upset last night by a good team in Galax.

If i guess correctly Stuarts Draft averaged 80+ a game this year? I think they are sitting at home. 2 quality teams playing defense is not boring in a 50 pt game.

If u think high school games this time of year are boring in the 40's then chances are you r looking for the wrong things when watching the game.

The examples listed above are great matchups of great teams who know one another for the most part, are prepared, games become half court games for the most part, every possession has high value and it's about execution, playmaking, etc. Games like those are grinds.

That's the way state tournament basketball is played.

I can only speak for myself. I do not like half court games. I do not like to watch defense unless it's full court pressure, that leads to many turn overs and fast break points. Watching 2 players pass ball around top of key is boring from the bleachers.

I'm guessing then that you don't like UVa's defense? It's only got them to #2 in the land

Half court games are not at all synonymous with 2 guys passing back and forth on the perimeter for minutes at a time trying to stall.

Mr J im so sorry did not know it was English class will make sure to get your ok next time

I do not like anything about UVA basketball . Have not watched them all season and do not intend to watch them.

Richmond VA I'm guessing they call Richmond RVA all there fans had them on last year in the Championship game.

Defense wins championships...someone earlier used Stuarts Draft as a team that was highly potent on offense, but had more holes on defense then a slice of swiss cheese...HR6, maybe it's time u got over holding a grudge against UVA for whatever reason...I'm sure Bennett or any of the current players had anything to do with the situation...UVA is a prime example of team ball...and if they hold their opponnets under 50 pts a game, I like their chances...if watching two good teams go at it and score under 100 pts total that is a very good game to watch, especially if there is a rivalry...I will use Page Co./Luray as an example...both games Luray won but, both games came down to the wire and total pts. scored was under 100...
