Williamsburg Christian 75 Denbigh Baptist 26

Williamsburg Christian Academy rested all five starters in their 1st round matchup with host Denbigh Baptist. The Eagles backups still cruised to an easy 75-26 win in a total mismatch. Junior Malachi Banks scored all 30 of his points in the first half for the Eagles before watching the remainder of the game from the bench. Kivinie Johnson added 11 points, six assists and eight steals while freshman Ethan Conrad added 11 points despite missing three dunk attempts. Sophomore Jalen Vaughn added eight points, 10 rebounds and five blocks in the second half. Daniel Marshall led Denbigh Baptist with 14 points and nine rebounds.


Hampton Christian 78 Stoenbridge 36

The second game was also a blowout as #2 seed Hampton Christian routed #7 seed Stonebridge 78-36. The Warriors led 15-12 before a 12-0 run extended the lead to 15 which started the blowup. The Hampton Christian lead was extended to 30 at halftime. The win was a family affair for the Warriors with brothers Jacob Tebay, Nathan Tebay, and senior Evan Tebay combining for 36 points. Jacob led all scorers with 17 points including three treys with six steals and Nathan had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Evan finished with nine points and six assists. Sophomore Anthony Baker had 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Junior Xavier Randles, in his 1st year of basketball, posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.


Broadwater Academy 42 Isle of Wight Academy 34

The most competitive game in the Metro Conference Tournament was the 3rd game matchup between #3 seed Broadwater Academy and #6 seed Isle of Wight Academy. The game was tied at 29 early in the 4th quarter until Broadwater Academy pulled away for a 42-34 win. The Vikings road the shoulders of freshman Clay Wardius who broke the tie scoring eight of the teams final 13 points. Wardius only played a total of two quarters, finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Ahmad Scarborough converted a big 3-point play down the stretch and he finished with eight points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Jashawn Wharton added 11 points. Isle of Wight Academy was led by William Fricke who scored 10 points while Colby Williams scored all seven of his points in the 3rd quarter.

Atlantic Shores 76 Portsmouth Christian 56

Atlantic Shores moved on to face top seed Williamsburg Christian after defeating Portsmouth Christian 76-56. The Seahawks jumped out to a 17-0 lead and they went into the halftime break leading 40-22. Sophomore Chase Larmon had three treys before Portsmouth Christian knew what hit them. He finished with 18 points while nailing four 3-pointers. P.J Roach led the Seahawks with 21 points four assists, and seven rebounds. The high-flying Gabriel Dickerson totaled 15 points, five steals and three assists. Center Damon Fitzgerald was also in double figures with 10 points and seven rebounds. Portsmouth Christian was led by Storm Eshleman who scored 17 points while finishing with 13 rebounds. Point guard Jerry Goodman scored 10 of his 13 points in the 2nd half while dishing out six assists. Junior Jeremiah Morgan made the most of his scoring opportunities draining three treys and scoring 10 points.
