My fault, you're right. I forgot Mathews lost in the regional championship last year. I feel like WP could have made some noise if it was like normal years and each region got 2 teams to statesNaw, CB won it last year.
WP didn't get a big game from Layne tonight. He hit a 3 early, but I don't think he hit anything else other than free throws. I thought #20 played well for WP, although I'd like to see him down low more at 6'8. He will hopefully hit the weight room in the off-seasonGood competitive game. Mathews handled WP on the glass, I think they had double digit offensive rebounds.
I totally agree with everything you said. Mathews definitely had a great game plan tonight.#0 had 11 threes for them in their 1st 2 games and took a total of 4 or 5 shots tonight. He finished with 6, #4 had 18, big kid had 6, #5 had 9, #20 had 11. As I said earlier WP got crushed on the glass and gave up a ton of 2nd chance points. There were very few easy buckets for WP and when your 3 pt shooting is cold (3 for 21), you have to find a way to get a few of those. Mathews looked like they had plan defensively and IMO combined with the domination on the offensive glass was the difference. Good luck to Mathews and KW Wednesday night.
