When I said in January, despite their current record, watch out for Franklin, I meant it. Now they're region champs. A perfect example of why you can't always go by records. There's levels to this. Franklin went out and scheduled a bunch of bigger schools and took plenty of lumps, but now it's paying off. They have yet to lose to a class 1 school.

Went and took a look back at their schedule and you are correct that schedule was extremely stout! Think this was Altavista’s second loss to a 1A school all year themselves, coming out of a tough Dogwood District that have 5 out of 7 teams advance to the “Sweet Sixteen” or regional semis of their divisions. Interesting seeing the 3&4 seed come out of Region B, but you are right, schedule up and take your lumps and you’ll be battle tested come playoff time!

Yes, you're exactly right. That exact reason is why I picked Franklin to play Altavista in the Region B championship. Saw something similar in Region A girls. Prince Edward had the flashy undefeated record, while John Marshall girls had 8 losses, but they were all to good private schools or teams from higher levels. JM ended up beating Prince Edward by 25 last night.
