South Lakes jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead, only to see Westfield come roaring back to take a 17-14 halftime lead. Westfield then experienced some bad luck late in the game when an apparent sack deep in SL territory was wiped out by a penalty, leading to South Lakes scoring on a scrambling pass play that was eerily similar to what happened in the Westfield-Madison game to give SL a 28-24 come from behind win.

SL took the opening KO at their 19 yard line and quickly put together an 81 yard scoring drive, jumping out in front 7-0 on a Copeland 17 yard run, 7-0 (Benyo XP) with 8:10 to go in the first quarter. WF's first possession was a three and out and the punt gave SL great field position at their own 49 yard line. Only able to gain five yards, SL punted-but a roughing the kicker call gave SL a new set of downs and they quickly scored on a 40 yard Harris to Kennedy pass to extend the lead to 14-0 (Benyo XP) with 3:48 to go in the first quarter. WF then drove to the SL 27 yard line but stalled and settled for a 44 yard Nicklas FG to cut the lead to 14-3 at the 10:56 mark of the second quarter. SL then went three and out, with WF's next drive going 57 yards to score on a 17 yards Jenks to Sawyer pass to cut the lead to 14-10 (Nicklas XP) with 5:59 remaining in the half. SL's next possession was another three and out, giving WF good field position on their own 44 yard line. WF then drove the 56 yards to score again for a 17-14 WF lead when Duda ran it in around the right side from 21 yards out (Nicklas XP) with 1:34 remaining in the half.

WF took the second half KO and reached the SL 34 but stalled again and punted into the end zone. SL then drove 80 yards, capping the drive with a 17 yard Harris to Zschunke pass to take back the lead at 21-17 (Benyo XP) with 4:47 to play in the third quarter. The two teams then traded two punts each before WF had the ball on their own 37 yard line. After getting a first down near midfield, WF's Duda went 54 yards for a score to put WF back into the lead, 24-21 (Nicklas XP) with 4:36 remaining in the game. A pooched KO gave SL starting position deep in their own end at the 18 yard line, but they ended up punting the ball back to WF at the WF 36 yard line with 2:36 remaining in the game. WF could not get a first down and punted the ball back to SL at the SL 34 yard line with 2:05 remaining on the clock. On the second play WF broke through the SL O-line and appeared to have a sack near the SL 25 yard line, but a facemask penalty moved the ball all the way to the SL 49 yard line. On the next play SL's Harris scrambled to his right to buy time and luckily found a receiver (I did not get the number) near the WF 40 yard line. The receiver ran to the home sideline and, with several blockers in place, weaved in and out of several WF defenders and broke a tackle to reach the end zone for a 49 yard TD. After the Benyo XP SL regained the lead, 24-21, with only 1:30 to go. WF did have one final chance but failed to move the ball and had a turnover on downs to give SL the ball on the WF 39 yard line. SL managed one first down and then went into the victory formation for the win.
