This being a rivalry game, the kids do stuff. Centreville took the field waving their flags at the Westfield home side and promptly stuck the Wildcat flag into the Westfield "W" on the field. That did not work out so well. WF scored on the opening KO, on a pick-6 on CV's first possession, and then used three plays the first time the offense saw the field to lead 21-0 less than seven minutes into the game. The WF defense also spent a lot of time in the CV backfield or pressuring the QB and that really caused CV's offense to struggle all game long.

WF's Duda took the opening KO 95 yards for a score, 7-0 (Nickas XP) at the 11:51 mark. CV started their first drive at their own 22 yard line and reached the WF 40 yard line before WF defensive pressure forced a batted pass and WF's Arita had a pick 6. After the Nicklas XP WF was out in front 14-0 with 8:51 remaining in the first quarter. CV's next possession was a three and out, but more importantly CV's QB Shields left the game with an injury-he would not return. The short CV punt on this possession then gave WF great field position at the CV 43 yard line. On the second play Jenks found Sawyer down the middle for a 28 yard gain to the CV 12 yard line, then WF's Duda ran it in on the next play from 12 yards out to extend the lead to 21-0 (Nicklas XP) with 5:16 to play in the first quarter. CV and WF then exchanged a total of three, three and out, punts before WF had the ball at their on 48 yard line. After a Jenks 25 yard run put WF just outside the CV red zone at the CV 23 yard line, several plays later WF's Murphy ran a sweep around the left side for a three yard score and the lead reached 28-0 (Nicklas XP) with 8:55 remaining in the half. CV started their next possession at their own 45 yard line when a WF onside kick rolled out of bounds. Facing a 4th and 3 at the WF 35 yard line, the CV runner was dropped for a 5 yard loss and WF took over at their 40 yard line. WF failed to move the ball and punted the ball back to CV on the CV 27 yard line. CV started their next drive and got one first down before the back up QB, Mack, was intercepted at the WF 25 yard line by WF's Richardson who returned the INT to the WF 42 yard line. WF then went 58 yards as time was winding down, with the big plays being a 23 yard Jenks to Murphy pass to the CV 35 yard line before Duda scored on a 35 yard pass from Jenks to push the lead to 35-0 (Nicklas XP) with 19 seconds to play in the half.

With a running clock the second half went quick, helped by the two teams combining for only two first downs and six total punts. Final score, 35-0 Westfield.
