So where have I been? Well I made it to the field for the final minutes of the championship game. At that point Kelvin Seay scored on a 46-yard touchdown pass from Mario Miller to draw within 14. The Springers kept to the ground attack and ran out the clock. The game in hand.
The Springers won their 5th state title to improve to 5-2 all-time in state championship games. Maury has finished runner-up two years in a row but Coach McCain made no excuses in the post-game presser.
More to follow later, look for a summary of this one late tonight/early tomorrow. For now it's time to get ready for the Class 6 State Championship.
